Scorers CPD update
We’ve produced a newsletter to update Scorers on a number of initiatives and courses planned for 2025.
It is part of a plan to develop a Scoring Community within Shropshire cricket to help develop the game for everyone.
The details are included below, and the newsletter can be downloaded via the link at the end of the story.
SCORERS’ CLUSTER MEETINGS
During February we will be hosting four regional cluster meetings across the county to meet with scorers to discuss their experiences and gather feedback as we approach the 2025 season.
We would like to take the opportunity to speak to scorers about their experiences of scoring at their club and offer support where necessary.
We will share details of training and CPD opportunities and aim to create an identity and network of scorers for the benefit of all involved.
Details of the meetings are as follows:
- Monday 3rd February @ Whittington CC
- Wednesday 5th February @ Bridgnorth CC
- Wednesday 12th February @ Shrewsbury CC
- Monday 17th February @ Newport CC
All meetings will be 6.30-8.30pm.

SCORERS’ DATABASE
Cricket Shropshire is working closely with the Shropshire Association of Cricket Officials (SACO) to create a register of scorers in the county.
The aim is to have the register available to help communicate with scorers about networking events, CPD courses, qualifications and other available information.
There are some activities planned for the New Year for scorers and hope that as many people as possible are interested in being part of this – further details will follow
It would be appreciated if scorers at clubs across the county could get in touch with use via the link below and tell us if they want to be included in the scorers database.
If you any further questions or queries, please email info@cricketshropshire.co.uk
SCORERS – HAVE YOUR SAY
The Board is in the process of shaping a new County Partnership Agreement with the ECB.
As part of this we are working to align with the ECB nationwide strategy on volunteers. We are keen to seek input from stakeholders involved across the business including officials, specifically scorers in this instance.
You can have your say via the Recreational Cricket Survey link HERE.
