Secondary Schools

Find out the work we do in Secondary Schools across Shropshire.

Secondary School delivery is supported through funding from Chance to Shine and offers a free programme of cricket, equal to 36 hours per school. This has a real focus on club connection and transferring these young people to their local club – whether that be to play women’s softball, or peer age group cricket.

The key areas of this delivery are:

Try – an opportunity for girls to experience cricket, maybe even for the first time.

Compete – both indoor and outdoor competitions to regional level to allow that competitive development in their game.

Lead – offers a young leaders course for those girls to then lead lunchtime clubs, afterschool clubs and primary school festivals/tournaments.

The Secondary School programme aims to give the young people the confidence and ability to learn new skills and progress themselves as players, but also young leaders.
