Shrewsbury School U15s in national One Day Cup semi-finals
A brilliant 142 off 119 balls from Gurveen Singh Athwal helped Shrewsbury School U15s cruise into the national semi-final of their One Day Cup with victory over Greshams’ School from Lincolnshire.
H combined with Bryan Mudalige (56 off 89) to put on 177 for the first wicket as they scored an impressive 286-5 off their 40 overs after Shrewsbury won the toss and batted.
Greshams were never in the hunt in their reply against an excellent bowling attack and were dismissed for 155 in the 38th over.
The wickets were shared amongst the Shrewsbury bowlers with Jake Adams (3-11), George Jenkins (2-15) and Hugo Bebb (2-21) the pick of the attack.
Shrewsbury now visit Altrincham Grammar School tomorrow (Thursday, June 28), the North winners, in the national semi-final with the winners qualifying for the final in July.
