Paul Taylor – a tribute

Everyone at Cricket Shropshire is saddened to learn of the death of St Georges CC chairman Paul Taylor.
Paul had been involved in a variety of roles at St Georges CC for many years from player to chair, including acting as Safeguarding Officer, a role which saw him win the ECB Cricket Collective Safe Hands award last November.
Cricket Shropshire Lead Officer Steve Reese said: “Paul will be sorely missed. He was a really active member of the Shropshire cricket family.
“We, as a board, have regularly benefited from his knowledge and experience over the years and he has acted as a sounding board for us, especially on Safeguarding.
“Condolences to all his family and friends from all at Cricket Shropshire.”
The citation for his award last year noted: “Paul has been the Safeguarding Officer for more than 20 years.
“He continues to share his knowledge and experience throughout the club and in the wider Safeguarding community.
“He is positive about change and strives to embrace new initiatives and is fully supportive of Cricket Shropshire and everything the Board is trying to achieve to make the game of cricket fully inclusive and accessible for all.”
