Extra coaching sessions for youngsters

Cricket Shropshire will be running additional Autumn/Winter coaching sessions across the County aimed at further developing the skills of young cricketers (boys and girls).

Update we have spaces in the following sessions:

U11 Boys @ Much Wenlock – Sunday 13th & 20th October – 1.30pm until 3.15pm

U13 Boys @ Much Wenlock – Sunday 17th, 24th November & 1st December – 1.30pm until 3.15pm

We will be running a three-week coaching programme at Under 11, 13, 14 & 16 Boys and Under 11, 13 & 15 Girls.

There are multiple venue options for Under 11s and Under 13s sessions (Wrekin College, Ellesmere College and Much Wenlock Leisure Centre). The Under 14, Under 16 Boys & Under 15 Girls will be run at Shrewsbury School Cricket Centre.

Sessions will focus on skill development (batting, bowling and fielding), game based practices and net coaching.

Sessions at all age groups will include use of hardballs so having use of protective equipment is preferable for all players involved. 

Under 11 Boys and Girls – Sunday 6th, 13th and 20th October

Under 13 Boys and Girls – Sunday 17th, 24th November and Sunday 1st December

Under 14, Under 16 Boys & under U15 Girls – Sunday 17th, 24th November and Sunday 1st December

Please note – these sessions are separate to Cricket Shropshire’s Player Pathway trials/observations for newly nominated players and existing pathway players.

Players nominated for trials and existing players will be contacted separately regarding this process.

Please see below registration forms that contains the venue options and various session options/timings. There are two forms, first the one for the boys’ sessions, then the one for the girls’ sessions.

Places are bookable on a first come, first serve basis. Players attending should have the skillset and experience of playing hardball cricket.

The cost of the three week programme (U11s-13s) across the various venues is £35 pp (3 x two-hour sessions)

The cost for U14-16 Boys and U15 Girls at Shrewsbury School is £60 pp (3 x two-hour sessions)

The deadline for registration by age group is listed below;

Under 11s – Monday 23rd September

Under 13s – Monday 4th November

Under 14s, Under 16s Boys & Under 15 Girls – Monday 4th November
