Amy and Lauren star at School Games
Congratulations to Shropshire’s Lauren Kenvyn and Amy Griffiths who have been involved in the School Games after a series of Best v Best peer opportunities as part of their involvement with the Central Sparks Academy.
They were part of the England teams which took part in the Games at Loughborough University alongside U19 teams from Ireland, Scotland and the West Indies.
There were 39 players involved in the three England squads selected from the regional academies across the country after games which were held earlier in August.
Both were part of a Central Sparks Academy squad which took part in a festival at Oakham School playing a series of T20 games against other regional academy sides.
As a result, both were selected for North Academy games which were played at the National Cricket Academy at Loughborough.
In the School Games, Amy was part of Team Knight which took on another England team and the West Indies and won Group One, while Lauren was part of Team Dunkley which won Group Two.
Cricket Shropshire Pathway and Coaching Manager Ed Ashlin said: “Well done to both Lauren and Amy on being selected for the School Games and being involved in their winning sides.
“It’s great to see two young cricketers who have come through the ranks in Shropshire doing so well at regional level with the Sparks.”
