Ed’s role reinforces link with SCCC

Cricket Shropshire continues to work to forge closer links with other bodies involved in the game in the County.

An example of this is the Pathway and Coaching Manager Ed Ashlin taking on the role of head coach for Shropshire CCC alongside his Board duties.

Lead Officer Steve Reese said: “I agree with the comments from Shropshire CCC Director of Cricket Ed Home that this will forge a closer working relationship between the county club and the Board.

“It is now a seamless transition for the boys on our pathway into senior county ranks.

“The working relationship with the County club has been growing in recent years and has been further enhanced with myself and Ed having representation in their Board Meetings.

“We also want to link closely with the Shropshire County League and provide opportunities to players in our local league, as well as those players continuing to ply their trade in the Birmingham League.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ed Home on the progress he has made so far with the Men’s County side, along with the support he has had from Richard Lees, John Hulme and Chris Wiseman dealing with the off-field demands.

“A huge thank you to Dave Nock the outgoing Coach, who we are now working with on promoting umpire recruitment, retention and development.

“It is a really exciting time for Cricket in Shropshire.”
