Clubs staging Summer camps

Cricket Shropshire is looking to help promote cricket camps at clubs across the county this Summer.

Quatt CC are the latest club to let us know the details of their plans for the Summer.

They join Whittington CC, Wellington CC, Ludlow CC, Cound CC, Bishop’s Castle CC, Knockin & Kinnerley CC and Sentinel CC on our list – if your club is running a camp, please let us know and we can add the details to our list.

Quatt CC have four camps lined up, August 5-7, 12-14, 19-21 and 27-28 from 9am-3pm each day with early drop-off and late pick-up available.

The camps run by ECB Level 2 coaches Tom Whitney and Luke Daly are for 5-14-year-olds and will feature both hardball and softball groups costing £15 for a full day (9am-12noon option available for £10).

The Sentinel CC camp is on 5-6 August from 9am-3pm each day (early drop off available if required) for ages 6+.

It costs £30 for one day, £50 for two or £60 for all three – to book email jturford@btinternet.com

The Knockin & Kinnerley CC camp runs from from 12-16 August for youngsters aged 6-13 and will involved cricket plus other activities from 9.30am-3.30pm with an early drop off available at 8.30am and a late pick up at 4.30pm.

They will split into three groups – juniors (6-7), intermediate (8-10) and senior (11-13). A weekly pass to attend the camp is £150 with sibling discount of £112.50 available, a daily pass costs £35 (£26.25 sibling discount).

Bookings can be made via the Knockin & Kinnerley website HERE. If you want a sibling discount, buy a primary pass and then email organiser Brian Morrow via brianmorrow@hotmail.com to let him know so he can assign the other child in the appropriate group.

The two-day Bishop’s Castle CC camp is on July 23 & 24 from 10am-3pm each day and offers coaching for boys and girls of all abilities aged 7-14 with ECB-qualified coaches.

The Summer Activity Camp at Whittington CC will run from July 24-26 from 9.30am-3.30pm each day for youngsters aged 5-13 and will feature cricket games and activities alongside a circus workshop, obstacle courses, water games and a dance workshop.

A Friday evening presentation and barbecue is also planned on the final day.

The cost is £60 for club members with siblings £50 (day rate £25 & £20). Non-members is £75 with siblings £50 (day rate £30).

Wellington CC have two camps planned, one from August 5-9 and the other from August 19-23 with sessions running from 10am until 2.30pm each day. 

The camps, led by the club’s ECB-qualified coaches, will include cricket, fun and games for boys and girls in school years 4-8, and no experience is necessary. The cost is £80 for the week of £20 a day.

Ludlow CC have two Summer Camps planned – one for softball cricket and the other for hardball.

The Softball Camp on August 19 & 20 is for boys and girls aged 5-9 and will include drills, games and prizes. The cost is £20 for one day or £30 for both.

The Hardball Camp follows on August 21 & 22 and will include drills, the chance to face the bowling machine and a tournament. The cost is £30 for one day or £50 for two.

Cound CC have two three-day camps planned at the ground off Harnage Road in the village, SY5 6EW, the first from 29-31 July and the second 26-28 August.

Both will be from 9-3pm each day, all abilities welcome aged 5-16, for a mix of cricket, sport and crafts and will cost £30 per day per child or £80 for all three days of each camp.
