There were victories for both the Over 50s and 60s 2nd XIs as the Shropshire’s Senior sides continued their 2024 campaigns.

Opener Morgan Thompson scored a composed 90 as Shropshire Under 12 Boys enjoyed a comfortable victory over Herefordshire at Pentland Gardens.
Batting first, Thompson’s innings off 99 balls was the cornerstone of the Shropshire total of 187-6 from their 35 overs with skipper Ruben Pembleton chipping in with 22.
Pembleton then took centre stage with the ball, claiming 3-10 from his five overs at the top of the innings – and the hosts never recovered from 24-4.
Lewis Sampson took 2-14 and Noah Quin 3-8 from just 2.1 overs as Herefordshire were bowled out for 69, giving Shropshire victory by 118 runs.
The Under 14 Boys lost out by 54 runs when they took on Nottinghamshire at Madeley CC.
Batting first, the visitors made an excellent start, reaching 145 before they lost their second wicket.
But spells from Matthew Smith (2-24), Ollie Dyson (2-16) and Finn Jones (3-24) chipped away from then on to restrict Notts to 253-9 off their 45 overs.
Shropshire kept up with the rate through their innings but lost wickets along the way.
Harry Parton top-scored with 62 from just 26 balls, Dyson made 22 and Jones 31, but they were bowled out for 199 in the 35th over.
Cricket Shropshire’s S9s slipped to defeat in a rain-affected game against neighbours Staffordshire at Calverhall CC.
