Congratulations to Jim Porter from Frankwell CC who has received the ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award for August 2026.
Jim Porter has been a dedicated member of Frankwell CC, giving countless hours of his time to help the club grow and thrive. His ambition and commitment have been particularly evident in the transformation of the junior section, where participation has increased from 35 juniors in 2023 to more than 100 in 2026. This remarkable growth reflects the effort Jim has put into developing junior cricket and creating opportunities for more young people to become involved in the game.
His work has also helped revive several junior teams at the club, strengthening the foundations for Frankwell’s future. The impact reaches beyond participation figures. Thriving junior section gives young players the chance to develop their skills, build confidence, form friendships and experience the enjoyment of being part of a club. Jim’s contribution has helped make cricket a bigger part of the lives of young people and families in the local community.
Beyond junior cricket, Jim has helped drive improvements to the clubhouse and pavilion, recognising the importance of facilities that support the whole club. Alongside his work with young players, he has continued to support the wider club, contributing his time and energy to making Frankwell CC a place that members can take pride in and enjoy.
