Shortwood School award presented
Cricket Shropshire’s Primary School Teacher of the Year award this year went to the PE team at Shortwood Primary School in Telford.
The school were unable to attend this year’s Presentation Evening which was held at the Albright Hussey Hotel in November.
So, Community Coach handed the award to Steve Faulkner on behalf of the PE team from Shortwood School during a recent visit.
Cricket Shropshire’s Chance to Shine Lead Ryan Lockley said at the presentation evening: “This award recognises the remarkable dedication and impact of engaging teachers and school staff who go above and beyond for their students from all backgrounds and walks of life.
“The staff at Shortwood Primary have an outstanding focus on physical education, fostering an enthusiastic environment where students are not only excited about sport in general, but are developing a love for cricket.
“This passion is clear as they actively participate in numerous competitions, showcasing their talents and sportsmanship.
“The strong relationships that teachers cultivate with both ourselves and the students creates a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
“Our coaches feel like an integral part of the team rather than a third-party deliverer, which enhances the pupils overall experience through showing that sport is valuable to a well-rounded curriculum.
“The commitment demonstrated by this group of teachers truly exemplifies the spirit of this award.”
Congratulations once again to the PE staff at Shortwood School.
