Shirt sponsors boost for D40 squad

Cricket Shropshire’s Disability D40 squad has been boosted by the backing of new partners for the 2026 season.

Shropshire firms NCB and Hampton Industrial Consulting have come forward with support which has helped buy new kit for the squad.

The team were delighted to wear the kit for the first time their recent trip to Higham Cricket Club near Barnsley to take on Yorkshire IIs.

Lead Coach Jonathan Caldecott said: “We are very grateful this year to Pete Thornton from NBC and also to Paul Woodhouse from Hampton Industrial Consulting for their backing.

“Their very generous support has allowed us to purchase new playing match shirts for our D40 squad proudly displaying their business logos.

“This is very important to us, as we now have the same kit as all the other Shropshire representative squads in cricket pathway – showing we are part of the Shropshire cricket family.

“Playing in a match day shirt with your County badge on is a real honour on its own, but to also have logos of sponsors on them is an equally important as it shows support and backing for our disability players.

“We would like to thank both Pete and Paul for their support of our County D40 team and hope they like the look of our playing shirts, and wish them success with their businesses.”

A spokesperson for Hampton Industrial Consulting said: “Supporting local grass roots sports is very important to us.

“This year we have decided to sponsor a team that is very important to the directors, as their son is a proud member. It is a team that has provided him with the ability to play and excel at a sport he is passionate about.

“We are proud to support the Shropshire D40s Disability Team this season as a shirt sponsor.

“The D40s are run by a hardworking team of passionate volunteers and play games across the country against teams such as Yorkshire, Cheshire and Warwickshire.

“It’s been a shaky start to their campaign, but we look forward to an exciting season.”

Telford-based NBC supplies bearings and mechanical transmission components to firms around the world.

Hampton Industrial Consulting, based at Howle near Newport, provide clients with business management consulting services to help them reach their full potential.
