Millie steers U15s to victory
Skipper Millie Parry led from the front as Shropshire’s Under 15 Girls beat Worcestershire by seven wickets at Bridgnorth CC.
She won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first and the bowlers then got to work dismissing their opponents for 159 with Anna Hurford taking 3-13, Sofia Parton 2-6 and Charlotte Bell 2-34.
In reply, Shropshire lost two early wickets, but Parry hit 70 from 68 balls and shared in a 100-run partnership for the third wicket with Parton (40 not out) to steer her side to victory.
The Under 11 Girls were also on the winning side when they took on Cricket Wales North in two T20 games at Whittington CC.
In the first game they were asked to bat first and finished their 20 overs on 153-1 with Zara Tomkins unbeaten on 31 and Seline Mendis hitting 26.
They then bowled Wales out for 68 with Gianna Filippi taking 3-15 and Libby Cordingley and Rosie Scott two wickets apiece.

The Under 14 Boys travelled to the picturesque setting of Blunham Cricket Club to take on Bedfordshire in what turned out to be a one-sided affair.
Shropshire, batting first, put up a formidable 209-6 off their 45 overs with the highlight Ollie Dyson’s impressive return from injury, anchoring the innings with a well-crafted 78.
There were also contributions from Lakmin Illeperuma, who chipped in with a valuable 30 odd, and Ahaan Gowda’s resilient 36 not out, bolstering the total and setting a challenging target for the hosts.
Bedfordshire’s response never quite materialized, as they struggled to build momentum and were eventually dismissed for a modest 134.
Harry Greenway was the standout performer with the ball, claiming three wickets, and the rest of the bowling unit shared the spoils, each contributing to a comprehensive team effort that ensured a comfortable victory for the visitors.
The Under 15 Boys enjoyed victories over The ACE Programme Juniors in two T20 games at Frankton CC.
In the first game, Shropshire batted first and openers Harry Parton (74) and Finn Jones (75) laid the foundations for their side’s 184-4 with an opening partnership of 159.
