Board of Directors Vacancies

We are searching for TWO high-quality applicants with a passion for cricket as well as business acumen. These roles are Non-Executive Safeguarding Director and a Non-Executive Performance Director.

The Shropshire Cricket Board is representative of cricket across the county with a small and dedicated team of Directors. 

Shropshire Cricket Board’s main purpose is to Protect and Grow the game in the county. We are proud of our progress in recent years, which has been achieved through;

Our directors operate effectively and work closely with our delivery team, reporting through a series of ‘Operational Groups’

Non-Executive Safeguarding Director

The Cricket Regulator is an independent body that sets and enforces safeguarding standards. The Board Safeguarding Director works closely with the Regulator. Non-Executive Performance Director

Commitment for both roles:

This is a voluntary role 

  • 3-4 days’ equivalent per month (with some additional time at key milestone times)
  • 6-8 board meetings per annum—mix of online and in-person, AGM & sub-committee meetings
  • Occasional representation at national events 1-2 days per annum

The Person

We are seeking a candidate who is independent and objective in their judgement, with a strong commitment to advocating for the rights and voices of children and adults at risk. 

The ideal individual will be dedicated to continuous improvement and learning in safeguarding, demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and high ethical standards in all Board activities.

You should possess high integrity and a genuine commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within safeguarding practices.

Additionally, a passion for sport and a solid understanding of its structures at both professional and developmental levels are highly desirable.

It is important to us that the Board is balanced in terms of equity, diversity, gender and race as well as skills, experience and expertise. Being a Board Director will be a rich and rewarding opportunity to help maintain safeguarding standards and transform the Board.
