Disability Hardball Players
We are on the lookout for our 2027 season for Disability Hardball Players aged 16+
Cricket Shropshire is inviting expressions of interest from experienced disability hardball cricketers aged 16 and over who would like to represent the county in the 2027 season.
We are looking to strengthen our D40 squad and would love to hear from established hardball players who enjoy competitive cricket and want to be part of a Shropshire team. Players of all genders are welcome.
D40 cricket offers the opportunity to represent Shropshire against other counties, bringing together eligible players from across the county to compete as a team.
Interested? Let’s have a conversation
At this stage, we are asking players to register their interest rather than make a firm commitment to the season.
If you have considered joining in previous years but had questions about eligibility, the playing standard, travel or availability, we would welcome the opportunity to talk these through with you. We understand that balancing cricket with work, education, family and club commitments can be challenging, and we want prospective players to understand what is involved before deciding.
The planned season involves eight Sunday matches between May and July, including away fixtures requiring travel across the country. Please speak to us about your availability and any concerns you may have about the commitment.
Unsure whether you are eligible?
Players must meet the competition’s disability eligibility criteria. If you are unsure whether you qualify, please get in touch for a confidential discussion. You do not need to determine your eligibility yourself before making an enquiry.
We would also appreciate the support of local clubs, captains and coaches in sharing this opportunity with experienced hardball players aged 16 and over who may be interested.
To express your interest or ask any questions, please contact Tyler Ibbotson at tyler.ibbotson@cricketshropshire.co.uk.
We would love to hear from you and discuss how you could become part of Shropshire’s D40 squad for 2027.
