Nigel is latest Volunteer of the Month award winner
Our latest Volunteer of the Month award winner in Shropshire is Nigel Davies from Whittington CC.
And we are also looking for nominations for the August award – recognition for those who go above and beyond to ensure we get the game on at clubs across Shropshire each week during the season.
In recent years, Nigel has been instrumental in the revival of cricket at Whittington which has seen the ground go from being a sheep field to hosting regular cricket once again after an absence of a number of years.
The nomination said: “Nigel Davies is the ultimate heartbeat of Whittington Cricket.
“He has been instrumental in reviving cricket at Whittington over the last five years at the club after its demise.
“He has been involved in coaching and enhancing all the juniors from under 11s , 13s, and 15s as well as captaining of the seniors.
“In addition, he has spent countless hours preparing the ground for all teams, men’s, ladies and juniors.
“A very deserving nominee for the monthly award. I do think after all his endeavours he also deserves a lifetime award or a special recognition for services to cricket in this region.”
