Great response to scoring workshops offer
We’ve had a great response to our Scoring Workshops arranged in conjunction with the Shropshire Association of Cricket Officials (SACO) ahead of the 2026 season.
ECB online Scoring Course now available
Calling all potential scorers at clubs in Shropshire – the ECB’s new online Scoring Course is now live.
Free to access, the course has been designed in conjunction with the Association of Cricket Officials Scoring Sub-Committee and provides all the skills and knowledge for scorers to enter the ECB Scoring Pathway.
Individuals completing the ECB Scoring Course will also receive an offer to join the ECB ACO as a Complimentary Member for the 2026 season.

Young Ambassadors Programme fully booked
Cricket Shropshire’s popular Young Ambassadors Programme has once again proved to be a big draw.
Our planned course starting in the February half-term in 2026 is now fully booked.
The first Young Ambassadors programme took place in 2021 with the aim of helping youngsters develop their leadership skills and then put them into practice by volunteering at their clubs.
Dozens of youngsters have graduated from the programme since then and returned to their clubs and put their new skills to good use.
Cricket Shropshire Lead Officer Steve Reese said: “It’s great to see the popularity on our Young Ambassadors Programme – it shows the benefit of getting young people involved in all aspects of the game at an early stage.
“We will review our options early in the New Year and see if it is possible to run another course starting in February to meet the obvious demand there is out there for this offering.”
