T20 World Cup Predictor Competition results are in!
We’ve reached the end of the group stages in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup – so it’s time to reveal the winner of the Cricket Shropshire Predictor competition.
And it was a tense finish with five teams tied on 50 points – so it came down to the tie breaker of how many 6s would be hit in the group stages to decide who would win the kit bags from Fearnleys.
In contention were:
- Oswesty WaGs from Oswestry CC
- Rocking All Overs the World from Montgomery CC
- No Ball Bandits from Newport CC
- No Fielders in the Sky from Iscoyd & Fenns Bank CC
- Shif Incredies from Shifnal CC
The final total of 6s hit in the group stages after the final game between Australia and India was 103.
The entry from Rocking All Overs the World from Montgomery CC predicted 110 – just seven away – and they are the winners.
They receive a Fearnleys Girls’ Junior Hard Ball Kit Bag which includes two sets of pads, two sets of gloves, a set of stumps and six hard balls.
Runners up are No Fielders in the Sky from Iscoyd & Fenns Bank CC who predicted 78 – so they are the runners up.
They will get a Women or Girls’ Soft Ball Kit Bag which includes two bats, two sets of stumps, a set of cones and six softballs.
Cricket Shropshire will be in touch with the winners to arrange the hand over of the prizes.
Women & Girls’ Officer Naomi Payne said: “A massive thanks to all those who got involved in this competition and embraced the World Cup spirit.
“Congratulations to the winners and runners-up, Montgomery and Iscoyd and Fenns Bank. It was a very tight competition right until the very end. Clear to see these clubs know their stuff!
“They both have excellent prizes coming their way in the shape of women’s kit courtesy of Fearnley Cricket, which we thank them for once again.
“Cricket Shropshire now looks forward to seeing these kit bags put to great use in the future for their women and girls – maybe you’ll see them donning their kit in one of our leagues very soon!”
