U13 Girls in fine form this season

Cricket Shropshire’s Under 13 Girls have been in fine form this season and are unbeaten – with skipper Mills Jones hitting a century in one of their games.

They maintained their fine start to the season when they beat Herefordshire U15s in two games at Ludlow CC.

In the first game Herefordshire batted first and were restricted to 119-8 in 20 Overs in an innings that featured four run outs and wickets shared around.

In the reply, skipper Mills Jones hit 20 off 15 and Ava Mainwaring an unbeaten 38 off 30 balls to see Shropshire claim victory by six wickets with more than two overs to spare.

The teams then played a 10-overs-a-side game with Shropshire batting first and making 88-4 before restricting Herefordshire to 65-7 with Daisy Hogan claiming 2-10 and three more run outs.

They had earlier travelled to Redditch CC to take on Worcestershire where Jones hit a brilliant 101 off 106 balls to help her side to a total of 207.

In reply, Worcestershire were bowled out for 106 with Sophia Kundu claiming 3-6 and Emma Brown 2-5.

The Under 15 Girls enjoyed a victory in a low scoring game against Cricket Wales Under 16s.

Shropshire were in early trouble as they were reduced to 67-5 – but then Ahaan Gowda (33) joined wicket-keeper Bertie Kyte to lead the recovery.
