Runs galore in Furrows Mid-Week League

There was a run-fest as Forton and St Georges piled up more than 400 runs between them when they met in the Furrows East Shropshire Mid-Week League.
The Dragons came out on top to maintain their 100 per cent record in the competition – but Forton gave them a run for their money in the run chase.
Batting first St Georges smashed 232-3 with Muhammad Raheel Khattak, Ravi Duddala and Faizan Khan all hitting rapid unbeaten half centuries before they retired. Shahnawaz Ahmad also chipped in with 21.
Forton replied with some fireworks of their own, Joe Roberts and Louis Hancock both also reaching their half centuries and James DuBoulay chipping in with 28 as they finished on 198-5.
Chitti Arumilli was the pick of the Dragons attack with 2-28.
Church Eaton also enjoyed their innings with the bat when they travelled to Lilleshall.
Batting first, they racked up 218-4 with Oliver Wilson, George Burslem and skipper Will Ross all reaching their half centuries and Harvey Sidwell unbeaten on 24. Steve Boney picked up two wickets.
In the reply, finished their 20 overs on 140-5 with skipper Adam Binfield topscoring with 42, Rob Bagshaw hitting 21 and Oli Todd 25. Archie Wilkes claimed 3-16 from his four overs to claim the bowling honours.
Newport were another visiting team who enjoyed their travels when they took on Priorslee at Edgmond and inflicted the first defeat of the season on their hosts.
Batting first, Newport hit 206-3, Jamie Prew (36), Baadal Parag (47), Bobby Gill (45 not out) and Ryan Jones (24 not out) all chipping in.
In the reply, Ajay Karamkanty hit an unbeaten 53, Shananu Golar 21, and Renhish Ragan 22 not out as they finished their innings on 160-7.
Wrekin College conceded their game against St Georges 2s due to school commitments.
