Women’s XI looking to continue fine form

Cricket Shropshire’s Women’s XI go into this weekend’s double-header T20 against Lincolnshire at Shifnal CC hoping to continue their good form in their Vitality Blast campaign.

They are currently top of the Vitality Blast Women’s League 3 Division 2 North with Cumbria, although they are ahead on net run rate.

It follows two dominant performances when they travelled to Eastnor to take on Herefordshire recently.

In the first game they bowled their hosts out for 77 with Harriet Shuker claiming an impressive 4-5 from her four overs, Kate Brazier 3-18 and Charlotte Kirk 2-9.

Ava Clive then ensured there were no scares in the reply, smashing 59 off just 30 balls as Shropshire cruised to victory with nearly 10 overs to spare.

Clive then continued her fine form in the second game of the day as she hit 94 off just 55 balls before she was dismissed.

She was backed up by Shuker who hit 74 from 43 balls as Shropshire amassed an impressive 213-2 from their 20 overs.

Shuker then claimed 2-22 in the reply and Isabelle Crann 2-21 as the hosts were restricted to 148-7 in the reply to give Shropshire victory by 65 runs.
