Watering and drought management
With the continuing warm, dry weather which could lead to hosepipe bans this Summer, the Grounds Management Association has issued some guidance to ground staff around the county.
GMA Regional Pitch Advisor Andy Welsby said: “There’s a very good chance we’ll see some Temporary Use Bans (Hosepipe Bans) come into force at some point this summer.
“The forecast is suggesting there may be some rain around the corner, and hopefully it turns up, but I still think it’s worthwhile taking a look at the GMA’s advice.
“Within the section on the website there is advice on how to water effectively and efficiently, the rules around using water to prepare pitches when restrictions are brought in, and a section on working safely in hot and sunny conditions.”
