Volunteer of the Month award winners revealed

Cricket Shropshire is delighted to announce three more worthy Volunteer of the Month award winners after a busy season up and down the county.

The award recognises the hard work and dedication put in by the unsung hero volunteers at cricket clubs in Shropshire.

Our award winners for May, June and July are Oli Davis from Madeley CC, Martin and Jo Ball from Willey CC and Jeremy Tudor from Shelton CC.

Each has been presented with a Certificate of Achievement by Cricket Shropshire Chair Adrian Collins.

The nomination for Oli at Madeley said: “Oli does all the junior section training, matches and is also working hard in the committee.

“He also organises all men’s training sessions for all teams and is a great lad to have in your club.”

The nomination for Martin and Jo Ball at Willey CC said: “They are always working at the ground – rolling, mowing, strimming, helping with the ladies.

“Then there is the umpiring during the week and weekends, and Jo scores for the men and ladies’ teams, always giving up their time. Everyone in the club’s Ladies Section want to say a big thank you to both of them.”

The nomination for Jeremy Tudor at Shelton CC said: “Jeremy became a volunteer when his first child became a member of our All Stars.

Since then he has taken on our junior section and become a coach and team manager. He’s also stepped up to our executive committee which he is an active part off.

“He is now looking at ways to develop and improve our ground with extra ground space becoming available to us.”

There is still time to nominate someone at your club for a Volunteer of the Month Award – and we know there are lots of worthy candidates across Shropshire.Fill in the form below to nominate.
