Volunteer of the month award nominees sought

It’s National Volunteers Week – and want better way to celebrate than by nominating someone from your club for Cricket Shropshire’s Volunteer of the Month Award for May.
And to mark National Volunteers Week, we have decided to hand out two awards for May.
It’s been a busy start to the season at cricket clubs across Shropshire, and with the weather in the build-up to the season being kind this year, lots of volunteers have been hard at work to make sure we can #GetTheGameOn.
We know there are many worth nominees out there from clubs in Shropshire, so fill in the form below and we will see they get the recognition they deserve.
Cricket Shropshire has already chosen a winner from the nominations sent in for our April award this year – watch out for more details soon.
Lead Officer Steve Reese said: “There are some incredible volunteers out there who work hard to ensure clubs across the county promote the game and ensure people of all ages can play in a safe and friendly environment.
“We want to highlight the significant contributions of these people – without whom the recreational game would struggle to function as effectively as it does.
“They might be involved in maintain the grounds, safeguarding, becoming a new coach or upskilling to support junior sections, organising social events, fund raising, cleaning the venue, ensuring administration duties are compliant etc, with most wearing more than one hat.
“It is all vital work that needs to be done and should be recognised. Let us know about these people and each month we will highlight their efforts.”
Each month through the season, the winners will be chosen by Directors of Cricket Shropshire and will receive a framed certificate.
