Umpiring courses arranged for new year
There’s still time to sign up for one of the umpiring courses in Shropshire that will be held ahead of the 2026 season.
They have been arranged by the Shropshire Association of Cricket Officials (SACO) in conjunction with Cricket Shropshire.
There are four ECB Introduction to Umpiring Courses planned for anyone wanting to start out on their umpiring journey and to develop existing knowledge – helping your club out in the process.
Please see below a list of scheduled ECB Introduction to Umpiring courses. These are for anyone wanting to start out umpiring or develop existing knowledge.
These are:
- ECB Umpire Course (Open to all) Oswestry School – Sunday, February 8, to book CLICK HERE.
- ECB Umpire Course (Female Only) Sundorne Games Hall, Shrewsbury – Sunday, March, 1 to book CLICK HERE.
- ECB Umpire Course (Open to all) Wrekin College, Wellington, Telford – Sunday, March 15 to book CLICK HERE.
- ECB Umpire Course (South Asian) Wrekin College, Wellington, Telford – Sunday, April 12 to book CLICK HERE.
All courses will run from 9.30am until 4.30pm each day and Cost £70.
There will also be an ECB Umpire Progression Course in Telford on Sunday, February 22 for those that have already done the introductory course.
The aim is to get candidates ‘umpire ready’ and go into greater details on the Laws of the game, match management and the decision-making process.
There is also a Young Officials – Introduction to Umpiring (14-18yr olds) course planned at Oswestry School on Sunday, January 18 from 9.30am-4.30pm. To book, CLICK HERE.
