Shelton claim another indoor crown
This year’s Strategic Leisure Women’s Indoor Softball Finals Night at Wrekin College an exciting three games of cricket with Shelton eventually emerging as champions.
Shrewsbury, Condover, Allscott Heath and Shelton came through the group stages which have been running since early January to claim their spots at Finals Night.

Semi-Final number one saw Condover and Shrewsbury battle it out for a chance to get one hand on the trophy.
A tidy display of bowling and fielding, including a devastating three-wicket over for Jenny Yapp-Felton, was followed by an excellent display of batting from the Condover ladies to put them in touching distance of the trophy.
Semi-Final number two saw Shrewsbury School Softball winners from the Autumn, Shelton, face Division 2 league winners from last Summer, Allscott Heath – and what a game it was.
A wicketless batting display put Allscott Heath in a strong position. But some aggressive batting by County Softball Top Performer of 2025 Sophie Richards at the end of the innings (despite a handful of wickets) ensured Shelton a place in the Final by a mere four runs!
Our Finalists, Condover and Shelton then put on an exciting display of cricket.
Shelton batting first, the ladies went without loss to post a total of 258 (starting on 200) with runs from Sophie Richards, Jess Branford, and young star, Isabel Price.
Despite a host of balls dispatched to the back wall by Annette and Amber, the loss of three wickets for Condover gave Shelton the upper hand and it was the ladies in pink who went away with another Indoor Softball League trophy.
“Not only was the cricket excellent, but the vibe during the evening was also fantastic. It’s great to see all of the ladies in Shropshire get stuck in competitively, but lovely to see the support and camaraderie between the teams.”
“We offer our continued thanks and support to all teams, volunteers and of course, our Women and Girls’ sponsor, Strategic Leisure.”
