GMA Pre-season Grounds Maintenance webinar available
The Grounds Management Association (GMA) has arranged a regional webinar for cricket clubs in the West Midlands covering pre-season grounds maintenance.
It will take place on Monday, February 9 from 7pm for clubs in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
The webinar will be hosted by GMA Regional Pitch Advisor Andy Welsby and will cover works to be carried out on the square, the outfield and non-turf pitches and practice nets.
There will be a presentation covering the topics below and the chance to ask questions. Shropshire’s County Pitch Advisors will be on hand to help out.
Square
- Lowering the height of the cut
- Surface smoothing and initial rolling for compaction
- Squaring off and marking pitches
- Creating a pitch preparation plan
- Fertiliser application and pest management
Outfield
- Mowing and reducing height of cut
- Decompaction and surface smoothing
- Repairs and renovations
Non-turf pitches & practice nets
- Pre-season NTP maintenance practices
- Inspection, preparation and repair of net areas
