Quatt face Whitchurch in U17s final
Cricket Shropshire’s Junior Leagues for 2026 come to a conclusion on Sunday with the inaugural county Under 17s Cup Final.
The T20 game between Quatt and Whitchurch will take place at Wroxeter CC with an 11am start.
The U17s Cup competition was launched this season after discussions with clubs which identified a demand for an offer to fill the gap between U15s and Senior cricket.
An Expressions of Interest form was sent out and ten teams entered with the competition scheduled to take place after the end of school exam season.
Cricket Shropshire’s competition organiser Shannon Aston said: “We were really pleased with the response we had after discussions had suggested there was a demand for the competition.
“It gives players in the Under 17s age group the chance to play ‘peer’ cricket against players of their own age group which didn’t exist before.
“We have already had a number of other clubs say they would like to take part in the future, so we will be looking to run the competition again next season.”
