Shropshire U14’s showcased a dominant performance today in their match against Worcestershire U14’s, securing a comprehensive victory by 89 runs.

**Shropshire Innings:**

Losing the toss and put into bat, Shropshire set a formidable total of 265-7 in their allotted 45 overs. The top order laid a solid foundation with key contributions from:

- **O. Dyson** scoring a steady 54,
- **L. Illeperuma** top-scoring with an impressive 64,
- **W. Parkinson Witte** adding a valuable 47, and
- **M. Morris** chipping in with a brisk 41.

These efforts ensured that Shropshire posted a competitive total, challenging Worcestershire to chase a steep target.

**Worcestershire Innings:**

In response, Worcestershire struggled to build significant partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 176. Shropshire’s bowlers were in fine form, with **O. Dyson** delivering a match-winning spell, taking 5 wickets for just 30 runs. He was well supported by **G. Davies**, who claimed 2 wickets for 26 runs.

Despite some resistance from the Worcestershire batsmen, the target proved too high, and Shropshire’s bowlers ensured they maintained control throughout the innings.

This victory is a testament to Shropshire’s balanced team performance with both bat and ball. The team will look to carry this momentum forward as they prepare to face Northants at Oundle School next week.

**Shropshire U14s Triumph in Sunny Encounter at Blunham**

In the picturesque setting of Blunham Cricket Club, the Shropshire U14s faced off against Bedfordshire U14s in what turned out to be a one-sided affair. The day began with an **early alarm** for the Shropshire boys, who embarked on a **two-hour drive** to Bedford, but were greeted by **gorgeous weather** upon arrival.

Shropshire, batting first, put up a formidable **209-6 off their 45 overs**. The highlight was **O. Dyson’s** impressive return from injury, anchoring the innings with a well-crafted **78**. Contributions from **L. Illeperuma**, who chipped in with a valuable **30 odd**, and **A. Gowda’s** resilient **36 not out**, bolstered the total, setting a challenging target for the hosts.

Bedfordshire’s response never quite materialized, as they struggled to build momentum and were eventually dismissed for a modest **134**. **H. Greenway** was the standout performer with the ball, claiming **3 wickets** and earning the title of ‘pick of the bowlers’. The rest of the Shropshire bowling unit shared the spoils, each contributing to a comprehensive team effort that ensured a comfortable victory for the visitors.

The match was a testament to Shropshire’s depth and resilience, with every player stepping up to leave their mark on the game. The early start and long drive were well worth it, as the team returned home with the satisfaction of a job well done under the **blissful summer sun**
