New role to help boost Women & Girls game in Shropshire

Cricket Shropshire is looking for a Community Development Coach to help support the huge growth in the Women & Girls’ game in the county.
This exciting new role will support the Board’s Women & Girls Officer in growing the female offer across the county, in both recreational and pathway cricket.
We have seen a rapid and extended growth in the number of female participants in cricket in Shropshire and we want to continue to sustain and grow strategically within the clubs and community network.
It will help with the mission statement to make cricket a game for all and the most accessible team sport in the UK.
Cricket Shropshire Lead Officer Steve Reese said: “We are really excited at being able to offer this role, it reflects the growth of female participation in the sport locally. Whether a player, coach, official or administrator, females are involved in every element of the game.
“This role will ensure this continues to be the case and offer support to those who are maybe thinking about cricket for the first time or those wanting to progress to county honours through the player pathway.”
The main purpose of the job will be to work as part of the team with a key focus to support the growth of the Women & Girls’ game via:
- Schools (Primary & Secondary)
- County Pathway
- Clubs
- Diverse communities
- Community outreach
- Disability
